Where to Stay

The Little Blue Cottage is a cosy and homely end of mews two bedroom cottage, situated on lower Wivenhoe. Located at the end of a quiet gravelled mews out of sight and earshot of the road but just a stones throw away from local amenities (just 120 steps to The Greyhound pub)!

At over 150 years old, this charming cottage is packed with original features and has recently been restored to a high standard ensuring a luxurious and comfortable stay with all the latest mod cons.

The Space

Living area
You’ll enter the cottage through a small porch and into our cosy living room equipped with a fully functioning log burner (don’t worry if you run out of logs, pop to The Greyhound and they will be happy to restock the log store) and a 42inch smart TV.

Continue through to the kitchen which features fridge, washing machine, coffee machine, kettle and toaster. Well also make sure you’ve got some basics for your stay (tea, coffee etc.).

At the back of the cottage you’ll find the family bathroom with both shower and bath available.

Bedrooms
After a busy day enjoying Wivenhoe you’re sure to have a good nights rest. The master bedroom boasts a king sized bed with the second room offering a double bed, both with Egyptian cotton bedding and plenty of pillows. Both bedrooms are carpeted throughout, have exposed brickwork and storage for you to use during your stay. The master bedroom also has a new smart TV for those lazy mornings in bed.

If you need extra sleeping space then the mustard chair in the living room also folds out into a single bed.

Outside space
To the front of the cottage you’ll find a gated garden with a very small pond (look out for the frogs!) and a seating area with parasol ideal for dining al fresco or soaking up the sun late into the afternoon.

To the rear of the property a quaint south facing courtyard, perfect for enjoying a coffee or tea in the morning sun.

Guest Access

Parking
If you are arriving by car, parking is available on Park Road with no restrictions (1 min from the cottage) or in the King George V Playing Field car park just over the road.

Access
There is a secure lock box which we will give you the code to prior to your arrival for the keys.
